VIRGINIA GRENIER

HERMANSVILLE- Virginia E. Grenier age 90 of Hermansville, quietly passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, Michigan, where she has been a resident for the past 2 years.

She was born in Norway on February 3, 1920 the daughter of the late Basil and Anna (Vecellio) Recla.

Virginia graduated from Norway High School in 1937.

She married Richard Grenier on April 27, 1940 in St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan and moved to Hermansville. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1977.

Virginia was a member of St. John Neumann’s Church and served as a member and past president of St. Ann’s Alter Society.

She was a volunteer on the Hermansville Resque Squad for many years and retired from Claire Bedding where she worked for many years, later becoming a foster grandparent at North Central Area Schools, a position she held for 20 plus years.

Virginia is survived by her son Richard (Barbara) Grenier and their children Mark (Cathy) Grenier, John Grenier, Steven (Melissa) Grenier, Paul (Renee) Grenier; and a daughter Melanie (Ross) Nord and their children Ryan (Wendy) Nord and Derek Nord; she was blessed with 11 great grandchildren, Eryk (Cassie) and Kymberly Grenier, Anthony, Hailey and Taylor Grenier, Rhiannon Grenier, Brian, Cole and Brock Grenier and Alivia and Alex Nord; along with one great great grandson Blake Grenier.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers Leonard Recla and Richard Recla.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12 from 9-11 a.m. at St. John Neumann’s Church in Hermansville.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann’s Church with Fr. Michael Vichich, presiding.

Interment will follow at the Meyer Township Cemetery in Hermansville.
