ROY MURARO
NORWAY- Roy Muraro age 81 of Norway, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at his home in Norway.
He was born on August 25, 1928 in Crystal Falls, the son of the late Ferucio and Angeline (DeFrancisco) Muraro.
Roy graduated from Vulcan High School in 1947.
After graduation he joined his father working out of state construction as a miner, eventually settling in Milwaukee.
Roy married Rose Marie LaPorte on September 30, 1950 in St. Barbara’s Church in Vulcan.
He worked for Tomaro Contractors in construction over 25 years, then as a business agent for Laborer’s Local 113 of Milwaukee for 11 years, retiring to Norway in 1991 with Rose Marie.
Roy was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, #1474 and Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening, solitaire and crosswords, and his pick-up truck.
Roy is survived by his wife Rose Marie; sons Dennis (Debi) Muraro of Dousman, WI., and Kenneth (Monica) Muraro of Waukesha, WI.; daughters Mary (Dennis) O’Brien of Brookfield, WI and Karen (Don) Freitag of Cedarburg, WI; grandchildren Stephanie and Ryan Muraro and Tyler Bersch; brothers Nicholas (Carol) Muraro of Iron Mountain and Michael (Ann Marie) Muraro of Norway; sisters Betty Stachowicz of Niagara, WI and Rosalie (Louis) Dellapiazza of Norway; sister-in-law Marjorie Pientkewic of Vulcan; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Lenz, presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
