LORRAINE (SCAFASCI) COUSINEAU
NORWAY- Lorraine C. Cousineau age 87 of Norway, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services in Kingsford, MI.
She was born on August 25, 1922 in DePere, WI, the daughter of the late Julius and Elsie (Vanden Heuvel) VerMeulen.
Lorraine graduated Salutatorian of her class in 1939.
She married Earl Scafasci on March 30, 1940 in Norway. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1979.
Lorraine was a working wife, working in a defense factory during World War II, a sewing factory and secretarial work in an engineering office.
She married Donald Cousineau on November 24, 1987 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1998.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Loretta (Keith) Taylor of Greendale, WI; grandson Thomas Yale Taylor of San Francisco, CA; brother Dr. Gerald VerMeulen of Lake Forest, IL; sister Carol Moraska of Norway; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister LaVerne Johns and brothers Adolf and Harold VerMeulen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21 from 9:30-11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church with Fr. Raymond Zeugner, presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
